I went out to Din Tai Fung for the second time since I've been in Taipei and yes it's that good. I love dumplings and this place definitely does it right. The first time I went to the location in the basement food court of Taipei 101. This time I took the train to the Dongmen Train Station to check out a new location and order something different. The wait was about 30 minutes because I went during the lunch rush of 12-2pm. At Taipei 101 I waited about 45 minutes. I was given a number at the restaurant and then took a stroll around the block while listening to my Pimsleur Mandarin course. When my number was called I went up to the third floor, was seated, and eagerly waited my food. The restaurant takes food orders while you wait in line so that your food can begin preparation even before you sit down. About five minutes after sitting down my food arrived. I ordered Xiao Long Bao, their staple, steamed shrimp and pork dumplings, and spicy shrimp and pork wonton. Amazing! I left fat and happy.
